On October 29, 2014, Boko Haram terrorists invaded Mubi town in Adamawa state, including five other neighbouring Local Government Areas.

The unprecedented and bloody invasion left many residents with bitter memories; everyone from children to adults had a story to tell about the sad event. Residents woke up that morning to realize that their towns have been taken over by terrorists. Over 220,000 people ran for their lives, even as Nigerian soldiers who were meant to protect the people also ran in their thousands. Ragtag Boko Haram captured the towns and installed their own government.

It was a horrible experience that some victims never wanted to recall but Illyasu shares her 48-hour experience in Boko Haram captivity.

She gave a true picture of the evil perpetrated by Boko Haram during the invasion and how the terrorists treated Christians in line with their beliefs and doctrine.
