After running riot by beating Swansea 5-0 on boxing day, Liverpool will today hope to continue their ruthless streak in front of goal when Leicester visit, even as they hope their leaky defense will stop Jamie Vardy.
The Reds have scored 12 in three Premier League matches and have not lost in all competitions since they were beaten by Tottenham at Wembley in October.
Jurgen Klopp’s men know victory against Leicester will keep them inside the top four at the turn of the year.
Liverpool host Leicester at Anfield with kick-off scheduled for 4pm Nigerian time.
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson and defender Alberto Moreno will miss at least two more Premier League matches due to injury and manager Klopp has “no idea” when either player will be fit to return.
Captain Henderson picked up a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Arsenal last Friday while Moreno has been sidelined due to an ankle problem since the club’s Champions League win over Spartak Moscow earlier this month.
“Length of time (on their returns), actually I have no idea to be honest … Both are out for the next two games for sure,” Klopp told reporters after Tuesday’s 5-0 win over Swansea.
“On Dec. 30 and Jan. 1, they have no chance, then we have to see again.”
Danny Simpson missed the defeat to Watford on Boxing Day and is a doubt for the visitors.
