The Non-academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities(SSANU), and the National Association of Academic Technologies(NAAT) of University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN) have threatened to shut down electricity and water supply in the university.
The Union Chairman, Mr. Paul Arau, have said they are participating in the nationwide strike to press for improved welfare. They added that the strike would continue until the Federal Government meets the demands of the workers.
He noted that the enforcement team will today, January 10, shut down electricity and water supply in UNN and advised students that have resumed school to go back home, as the school would not be opened for office work or lecture.
The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) in UNN, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Abada, when contacted said the lecturers are ready to teach the students since the academic staff is not on strike.
