A former President of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja Lagos branch, Barrister Monday Ubani has played down speculations that he visited Presidential Aso rock villa to seek political appointment.

While clarifying, Ubani said that he wasn’t served a cup of tea when he visited the Presidency in Aso Rock, Abuja, wondering why anyone would think he is soliciting for Federal appointment from President Muhammdu Buhari.

Recall that the former NBA Boss recently visited the Presidency to present the pension fund – N10, 000, of one Mrs Rose Arebameh Julius to support of Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign.

In an interview with Greennews.ng, Barrister Ubani said; “It will not be fair for me to begin to lobby for appointment under this Government because what you will be paid is only your salary. There is no corruption again in the system.

“I would have been happy to get appointment under Jonathan’s administration where my family will turn big. Then, stealing wasn’t corruption. And when you enter that Government, you are already a millionaire. Why would I even want appointment, is it not to get money?

Continuing, the Barrister at law said; “If I get any appointment under Buhari’s government, I consider it a privilege. Because I would go there and shine, contribute to the progress of the country just as I did when I was the President of NBA”.
