Nigerian artiste, Yemi Alade, has said that she makes four times more cash doing shows in Africa than when she does same in the United States.
The pop star lamented bitterly on social media about a recent trip abroad which she described as ‘almost non profit’. She also noted the stress involved in doing these shows, coupled with the poor food and bad sleeping conditions make such foreign trips a nightmare.
She wrote, “Last week’s flight hours were ridiculous. From airport to stage to barely ok food to radio interviews to sound check, stage performance and then another flight.
“Notice I didn’t sleep because we always have hotel rooms but we end up using them to store our luggage only. So where do we sleep or rest??
“Not everyone knows the USA entertainment don’t pay up to 1/4 of what Africa pays… it’s almost non profit.”
The singer and her ‘Ovasabi band’ thrilled fans at the Swayz ballroom in Dallas, Texas, USA on Friday night, July 28, 2017.
