Stephen Odey makes losing start to his SC Amiens career

Stephen Odey made his debut for SC Amiens in their French league 2 meeting against FC Paris on Saturday.

 

The Super Eagles striker who only completed a loan transfer to the club from KRC Genk of Belgium on Friday was introduced in the second half.

 

The former FC Zurich star replaced Ivorian Cheick Timite star with 45 minutes left to play at  Stade de la Licorne, but he couldn’t prevent his team from losing at home 1 – 2.

 

Julien Lopez put the visitors ahead with a fine finish five minutes before half time break.

 

FC Paris doubled their league 12 minutes into the second half, thanks to an emphatic finish from Moustapha Name.

 

Amiens reduced the deficit in the 71st minutes as Steven Mendoza scored from the penalty spot, but they were unable to get the much-needed equalizer.

 

Amiens currently occupies 13th position on the table, after winning just one and lost two of their three matches so far this season.
