Sunshine Stars has confirmed that Olugbenga Ogunbote, ‘The Oracle’ has signed a renewable one year contract on Tuesday to start a second spell with the Club as coach from the 2020/21 season.
Ogunbote shortly after signing the dotted line was presented to the media and other stakeholders at the conference room of the Ondo State Football Agency’s Caring Heart Games Village office.
The coach agreed on a return to the Owena Whales after parting ways with Lobi Stars of Makurdi at the end of the 2019-2020 season.
“I thank everyone that made this return possible. My philosophy is beauty in the game and success, hence I want result everywhere I go and the good thing here is that the standard is already there; we must work on it and aim even higher than before as anything below is not possible.
“We must repeat and double up on what we did in the past to achieve our goals; unity of purpose from all stakeholders: The management, Government, State Assembly, the FA, Supporters and others. I am happy to be back!” Ogunbote said during his media presentation.
Ogunbote guided Sunshine Stars to back-to-back semi-final appearance in the 2012 and 2013 CAF Confederation Cup/Champions League and narrowly missed out on winning on what would have been a first league tittle for Akure landlords in 2011.
