Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is gutted by the team’s defeat to Algeria in an international friendly game on Friday.
It was the Gernot Rohr tutored’s side first game since beating Lesotho 4 – 2 in African Cup of Nations qualifiers back in November 2019 and unfortunately were beaten 1-0 by the African champions.
Iwobi who featured for about 85minutes of the game in the number 10 role however failed to impress and was replaced by debutant Samson Tijani with five minutes left on the clock.
In reaction to the disappointing result, Iwobi said the team gave their all, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.
“It Wasn’t The Result We Wanted But We Gave It Our Best.” He said in a tweet.
The Everton forward and his colleagues will be back in action on Tuesday as the Super Eagles are scheduled to take on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
