Peter Ijeh urges Eagles handlers to change selection criteria

Former Super Eagles forward Peter Ijeh has advised the handlers to change the political selection process for players into the senior national team.

Ijeh told brila.net in a chat that coach Gernot Rohr has invited up to fifty players since 2016 and the team is still not close to perfect.

In his opinion, the Super Eagles team is not close to perfection because the team handlers do not prioritize merit as it’s the basis but politicking in their players’ selection processes.

Ijeh also added that Nigeria has the potentials and talents that can raise first, second, and third-team but it can only be achieved through the right mentality.

‘‘So, we all know that Nigeria has potentials, potentials that can raise the first team, second and the third teams. We have seen it happened before, we need the right mentality, the right coach,’’ he said.
