Chukwueze ends 12-month LaLiga goal drought in Villarreal win to lift Emery’s side to 3rd on the Table

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze finally ended his goal drought as he scored in Villarreal’s home victory over Real Valladolid on Monday.

Chukwueze, 21, found the back of the net for the first time this season and in 2020 to help Villarreal to a 2 – 0 win at the Estadio De La Ceremica.


He put Villarreal in front in the 21st minute before Pau Torres added the second seven minutes after an hour mark.

The goal however ended Chukwueze’s La Liga goal drought haven scored his last goal in November 2019 in a 3-1 home defeat to Celta Vigo.

He has now made 10 appearances, played 621 minutes, scored a goal and provided 2 assists so far this season.

The win lifted the Unai Emery side to third position in the Laliga table with 15 points.
