Afrobasketball Qualifiers: D’Tigers set for Mali test after beating Rwanda

Nigeria D’Tigers defeated hosts, Rwanda in the ongoing 2021 Afrobasketball qualifier on Saturday night in Kigali.


The Nigerian side dominated the game from start to finish as they recorded their second victory of the campaign.


D’tigers doubled their host’s scores in the first quarter when they led by 22 – 13 points.


In the second quarter, the 2021 Olympics games campaigners increased the lead to 47 – 28 points.


The Rwandans up their game in the third quarter as they scored several three-pointers to narrow the gap but they went into the last quarter trailing Nigeria 66 – 52.


D’Tigers however sealed the win in the last quarter with an 83 – 62 success.


The win is their second of the qualifiers after beating South Sudan by 76 – 56 in their match on Thursday.


D’tigers will play their last match against Mali later this evening.
