NFF not putting pressure on U17 – Sanusi

Scribe of the Nigeria Football Federation Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has stated that the Federation will not put pressure on the U17 national team because of the failure of the ill-fated U20 outing at the WAFU cup but rather wants to ensure the team keeps the developmental agenda of the NFF.

Sanusi speaking in a chat with brila.net said the essence of the cadet team is not lost on the Football Federation but are equally aware of what significant progress will mean to the growth of players at that level and to the next and ultimately to the senior team.

“The U17 will be on January 5th, the essence of having U17 is for us to have players that will graduate to U20 and U20 to U23 and to the senior national team. The coaches too promised that they will do their very best to make sure that the team do well and make Nigerians happy.”
