Gbenga Ogunbote says his Sunshine Stars side has learnt a great lesson from their defeat to Jigawa Golden Stars.
Ogunbote’s first competitive match since returning to Sunshine Stars ended 1 – 0 against Jigawa in their season opener on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Jigawa broke the deadlock in 76th minute through Onukwube Stone and the goal was enough to condemn Ogunbote ‘s side to their first defeat of the season.
In his reaction to the disappointing result, Ogunbote said there is no much time to mourn and stressed that they will only take positives from the match.
“We need to just take the positive from the game and get ourselves prepared for the next game. This Season has started that’s the gospel truth about the whole thing, so we just have to take the positive.
“We will go back home and correct all the error I noticed, it’s not a matter of the press but between me and my team. We make amend so that we can come better in the next game,” He said after the match.
Ogunbote and his players will be gunning for their first three points, when they host FC Ifeanyi Ubah in one of the match day fixtures.
