Ancelotti reveals why Iwobi missed Everton clash with West Ham United

Everton boss, Carlo Ancelotti said Alex Iwobi was left out of the club’s premier league defeat to West Ham on New year day due to injury.

Iwobi has started the last eight matches for the Toffees, but was replaced by Seamus Coleman in the 1 – 0 defeat to David Moyes’ Hammers at the Goodison Park on Friday.

Ancelotti disclosed that the former Arsenal midfielder was left out of his squad because of the injury he suffered in training and didn’t want to risk him for the match.

“Iwobi had a little problem during the training, we didn’t want to take the risk.” He said in a statement posted on the club’s social media handle before the kick off.

Iwobi has featured in 17 matches across all competitions for Everton this season and also contributed two goals and two assists.
