Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo was the hero as his brace helped Crotone to a flawless 4-1 win over Benevento on Sunday in the Serie A.
The match that was played at the Stadio Ezio Scida saw Nwankwo starting his 15th game of the season for Crotone.
The 28 year-old striker took his tally for the season to five goals in eight appearances .
He scored in the 29th and 54th minutes and played the entire duration.
Meanwhile, Benevento’s Kamil Glik put the Crotone ahead in the fourth minutes after diverting ball into his own net.
Nwankwo added the second and third goal, Milos Vulic netted the fourth in the 65th minute.
Iago Falque scored Benevento’s consolation goal in the 82nd minutes.
Despite the win, Crotone are still rooted at the bottom of the table with just 12 points from 18 matches.
