Mana put Eaglets struggles down to late preparation

Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Technical study group Dr Alex Mana has stated that the Football Federation will have to henceforth take the issue of team preparation for tournaments a bit more serious by ensuring camping and preparation starts in good time.

Mana speaking in a chat with said the Eaglets gave their all but there is a limit to which they can go based on the level of preparation the team had before going for the WAFU U17 tournament. He stressed that there is the need to step up the level and quality of preparation ahead of the team’s next campaign at the AFCON U17 Championship in Morocco.

“It’s over except we start planning for another one immediately. I think this time around other countries are actually planning ahead more than we do. I think we need to step up our preparations at all times. I think that has been our problem. We haphazardly put on preparations and you can’t do that with somebody who has been doing something in the same direction better and earlier.”
