Abd’allah excited with Wikki’s underdog status in the league after beating Rangers
Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side Wikki Tourist FC Usman Abd’allah has stated that he is excited with the underdog status of his team after Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Enugu Rangers in Bauchi moved the team to eight on the league table.
Abdallah speaking in a chat with brila.net said he is aware his team has been underrated many times this season but that at no point have they been far from the top teams ruing what could have been had they won their previous home fixture before Wednesday’s win.
“We have a formidable team that can match up to any team we are playing. We just got a draw last week and it slowed us down.
“Imagine we won Sunshine here and Rangers we could have been fourth by now. So people are not far away from now but it’s better they keep looking us as underdogs so that the pressure will be off against us. It’s not about beating Rangers but about grabbing the maximum points.”
