Chukwueze injured as Villarreal book Europa league final spot with Man United

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze was stretchered off early in the first half of the Europa League second leg semi-final against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.


Chukwueze sustained a suspected groin injury in the 29 minutes and was and was replaced by 18-year-old Yeremi Pino.


Chukwueze already had a groin injury earlier this year, in which he was out for a month and missed 8 games. He’s been fantastic for the Yellow Submarines since he returned.


Villarreal, however, coped with the setback and was able to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw which is enough to qualify them for their first European final in their history.


Recalled the Unai Emery led side won the first leg 2-1 at home last week and they will play another English team Manchester United in the final on the 26th of May.


As for Arsenal, the result brought an end to their 25-year run in Europe.
